Designed and executed the national overnight camp qualitative research study from initial stage to reporting, which was used to update the camper satisfaction survey and the Camping Quality Recommended Practices.• Designed a research plan by determining the methodology based on previous research and project objectives, and devised sampling quotas based on camp enrolment data and populations of interest. • Created research instruments such as participant screeners and discussion guides for in-depth interviews and bulletin board focus groups which were used in the data collection phase of the study.• Recruited participants and subsequently scheduled and conducted online focus groups and telephonic in-depth interviews with 80 camp parents, 5 camp counselors and 13 camp directors.• Conducted a qualitative data analysis and made data-informed recommendations to update the Recommended Practices to reflect a social media and mobile world.
