Never satisfied with the status quo, she continually strives to create more efficient, functional, and aesthetic buildings to serve her clients. Her quiet nature and relatable personality are a nice complement to this inner drive, and her focus on building great relationships through every design project make FMD’s clients and staff comfortable with Melanie leading them to success. With a family at home including her husband of 13 years and two young children, she also finds time to serve on multiple boards and as a mentor to other business women. Starting into the field of architecture right out of high school, I gained valuable experience working with DiMaio Architects through college, and decided to stay there after graduation. In 2008, our founding owner, Michael DiMaio, invited me and Mark Moore to become principals in the company. In January of 2009 we changed our name to FMD Architects, and have made a seamless transition as we continue to serve our existing clients as well as to develop new relationships.
