- Served as an English teacher with extremely limited resources to fifty to seventy students per class in a poor, rural public secondary school- Rewrote and enriched Beninese national English curriculum, student documents and teachers’ guides- Spearheaded the editing and reformatting of a 300-page supplementary English teaching document supplied to volunteers- Appointed to represent and serve as advocate for all the volunteers in two states of Benin. Acted as a liaison between volunteers and Peace Corps staff.- Created, designed and led two youth empowerment workshops attended by 56 local students. Wrote grant proposals to secure funding. Managed a team of 15 American and Beninese staff.- Chosen to develop and coordinate training agenda and materials for incoming trainees.- Led three weeks of training for 62 new volunteers.- Trained 45 young girls in healthy decision making and gender issues. 95% reported using acquired skills to improve their lifestyles.- Facilitated cross-cultural understanding in a bilingual working environment
