Jim has been a fantastic guide for me as my editor at Gapers Block. Over several months, he was incredibly helpful as I tried to not only improve my writing, but also learn all I could about the NBA, as it was the first time I've covered that sport in-depth. His knowledge of the game was instrumental in coming up with topics, while his editing of my pieces was a great eye-opener for me into what it takes to write about sports in a professional way. In doing so, he was always positive about improvements that needed to be made, making him a boss that I was happy to hear from even if it meant hearing about ways I could do better.

Jim has a dedication to the job that's rarely seen these days. He's great at managing the writers reporting to him, and his own writing style is both witty and informative. I'm glad to have him on my team.
