  SOARS is a 10-week internship program at NCAR in which protégés conduct original research. At the end of the program, protégés must create a poster, power point presentation, and paper on their research. My research area was in transportation weather. I focused on aiding in the development of a truck blow over algorithm, for The Pikalert® System as part of the Wyoming Department of Transportation Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Initiative (WYDOT CV Pilot). During the program, I participated in data communication and scientific writing workshops.

  I aid in analyzing CIP Optical Ray Probe data from several flightmissions through the trailing stratiform region of a mesoscale convective system, (MCS). I havecompiled thousands of hydrometers at varying temperature levels in a set of representative hydrometers ateach temperature level using Adobe Illustrator.
