I moved to Lisbon in August 2018 but continued to work remotely for Gazeus as consultant, mainly to guarantee a smooth transition to the new CIO and Head of Monetization. However, what began as a temporary arrangement became a full time job again. I'm currently responsible for keeping the company compliant with store and platform policies, like Google, Apple and Facebook, as well as with data privacy requirements and regulations, such as GDPR and LGPD.I'm also still deeply involved with the company's strategic planning and data science efforts, working closely with many of the teams. Head Of Business Intelligence
-
Sep 2013 - Jul 2018
After switching the focus to mobile games, we realized data was much more decentralized than before, so I created a new Business Intelligence cell in the company. My team and I built a data warehouse to store all the data from the different app stores, ad networks, marketing partners and analytics platforms we were using. This allowed us to create custom reports and dashboards using Zoho Reports and Tableau, gaining important insights into our business and increasing the revenue. We also developed monitoring systems that significantly decreased our response time to game client and server issues. In 2016 and 2017 we tackled the challenges of building a full-fledged data pipeline to collect user level data so we could better understand user behavior and improve our prediction models. Everything was deployed on AWS using services like Redshift, S3, Kinesis Firehose and, later on, EMR, Glue and Athena. This data was used on new dashboards and tools, such as a LTV predictor and a custom built event funnel analyser, opening up new levels of insight to the Product and Marketing teams. We began experimenting with machine learning in 2018 to build even better prediction models in a shorter time span. Moreover, GDPR came back into the spotlight and I lead the initial efforts to comply. Show less

Head Of Monetization
-
Jan 2017 - Feb 2018
Because of some changes in the company, I started to co-lead the Mobile Monetization team in June 2015 and, in January 2017 I became Head of Mobile Monetization.I was responsible for optimizing the ad revenue. This meant working closely with the ad networks in the pursuit of good eCPM deals, but it also meant maintaining and evolving our complex algorithms to tap into the best eCPMs regardless of networks deals.Through the expertise the company built since 2013 and the hard work and creative thinking of the team, we were able to double the advertising revenue in less than two years.During this time I’ve worked closely with Google and led the efforts to adapt to the to many changes in policy that happened over the years. I also worked with Mopub, Facebook, AdColony, AppLovin and many other. Show less

Project Manager
-
Jun 2010 - Aug 2013
Gazeus Games was born after Mosaico acquired two companies: Jogatina and The Social Poker (TSP). I was the Project Manager of all Jogatina’s games at the time, but I assumed new responsibilities shortly after the merge. The Jogatina site was now under my watch and during the first year, I temporarily took the role of Project Manager for TSP’s games.I managed three different teams and a total of 15 people working on three different products during this time.In 2012 I lead a company wide project to completely remake our top grossing game from scratch, both client and server. We adopted SmartFox as the new server framework and developed our first native mobile game in the process.Everything was done and rolled out by Q1 2013. This was an important milestone for the company and by the end of 2013 we became “mobile first”. Show less

I played a fundamental role in Jogatina’s inception. I developed the company’s first game, a real time multiplayer card game, using ActionScript 2 and Flash Media Server, but I also did a little bit of everything during our first year, from mounting servers in the data center to answering the first customers emails. It’s not easy starting a company with limited resources! As the company grew, I started managing the team responsible for creating and maintaining the game client. I remained as the sole responsible for developing the game server for a couple more years before assuming a purely managerial role. During the four years since the company started, my team and I delivered and maintained the following real time multiplayer games: Buraco, Tranca, Truco Paulista, Truco Argentino, Poker Texas Holdem and Snooker. Jogatina became the largest classic and casual games site in Brazil and was acquired by Mosaico in June 2010. Show less
