I am writing this recommendation in support of Melissa Wanke. Melissa assistant stage managed with me on several productions at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival over several years. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Melissa every time and always looked forward to any project with her. Melissa is an extremely competent stage manager. She is organized, has thorough knowledge of all the needs of a production, commits herself 110% to every show, has strong communication skills -both written and verbal, has good repoire with all those on a project - artistic and design teams, actors, and technicians alike, sees tasks through to the end, and is over all a wonderful team player. She is respectful to all and can handle emergency situations with grace. She possesses strong skills in the booth as a stage manager as well. Melissa has acted as my understudy and I always felt very confident leaving the show in her capable hands. I highly recommend Melissa as a stage manager and feel any company would greatly benefit from her presence.
