Working in a 12 person team accountable for land use planning, and working with 16 Local Government authorities, their Rangers and environmental personnel in the management of WAPC assets within their area. Key responsibilities included: Manage over 8,000 hectares of WAPC-owned land and waterways; Assist in the ongoing management of crown-owned land; Undertake rehabilitation of sites containing threatened ecological communities; Monitor and apprehend illegal off-road use of WAPC and neighbouring land within the City of Armadale. Strategy Development: Quickly developed strategies for the long term management of over 8,000 hectares of privately owned land. Vegetation Maps: Developed vegetation maps of high threat areas showing the extent of the natural vegetation for use in conducting fire suppression activities without impacting the native vegetation. Wildlife Survey: Instrumental in surveying land for a mammal thought to be extinct on mainland WA and identifying that is was now present in mainland WA, thus highlighting the importance of the site and need for long term protection for threatened wildlife. Joint Operations: Undertook joint operations with City of Armadale Rangers, WA Police, Department of Environment and Conservation to deal with illegal off-road activity on WAPC land.
