Tech lead for team of five championed with fortifying the current stance regarding Cyber Security for all BOR regions that covers 17 western states. Oversees Risk Assessment (RA), Incident Response (IR), Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) plans and policy development. In regards to CDM our team has currently completed the Security Data Framework, Project Charter, and CDM Phase 1 Implementation Plan. Currently testing the Implementation as of 4/16 using Splunk as the recommended security tool by DHS for CDM. Also in development of Phase 1 CDM POA&M. Streamlined vulnerability scanning throughout BOR. Automated the scanning process totaling approximately 50 monthly scans. Efforts reduced scans to two weeks versus previously taking 30 days. Automated weekly reporting mechanism used to notify all Information System Security Officers (ISSO) and Information System Security Managers (ISSM) throughout BOR. Re-created reporting metrics to include location of vulnerable systems to enable ISSOs/ISSMs to more quickly mitigate the critical/high vulnerabilities on the systems.

Personally ran 19 manual STIGs in two environments consisting of 1.5K overall checks. Collaborated w/environments team to mitigate findings. Recognized for extraordinary contributions to the STIG analysis team for executing and meeting program commitments. Security auditing (LogRhythm) and File Integrity Monitoring (Tripwire) SME. Led efforts to strengthen program’s security posture through compliance. Utilized tools to provide forensics analysis enabling rapid response and mitigation of threats.
