  The RSS wants to build statistical understanding across society, ensuring that we all get the most out of data. I worked with colleagues across the society, trustees, volunteers and the wider statistical community to improve understanding and handling of statistics, probability and data across society. Key areas of focus include Parliament, the civil service, the media, the legal profession and the education system. We influence education policy, and support education practice through our e-teacher membership, participation in the Global Learning Programme and other activities. We are involving our members in classroom enrichment activities and school governance. Our statistical ambassadors programme is developing a cohort of statisticians to engage public audiences with statistics through the media and public events. In addition to overseeing the above, I led our careers promotion work and am the staff lead for our diversity, equality and inclusion programme.
