In my role with the Put Fairborn Kids First campaign, I work to build digital platforms and outreach to voters via social media, email, and other forms of mass communication. I coordinated the development of the campaign brand, which included social media graphics, signage, mailings/postcards, and a website. I also managed the campaign social media pages, in which I communicated directly with voters via comment sections, private messages, email, and other requests/questions. I designed and built the campaign website using advice and guidance from campaign volunteers/coordinators. In 2016, our campaign passed two local ballot initiatives in the span of a year, including a renewal of a current funding levy (local tax initiative) and a Bond Issue to co-fund the construction of two new elementary school buildings for Fairborn City Schools (the public school district in my hometown.) The new buildings are replacing two 1940/1950s era buildings that had not been renovated or updated. The two new schools are scheduled to open in 2020 and 2022, respectively. In 2020, we successfully passed a multi-million dollar bond issue to fund the construction of a new facilities for the Fairborn City School District, including a new high school, performing arts center, athletics complex, and middle school. I served as an Intermediate Teacher at Saint Louis School in Austin, Texas, where I also served as a Teaching Mentor to two first year teachers. St. Louis School is a private school serving students in the greater Austin metro area in grades PreK3-8. I was the 5th Grade homeroom leader, in addition to covering all English Language Arts and Social Studies courses for the 5th grade. Previously, I taught 5th and 6th grade Social Studies, Science, and English Language Arts. I also served as a short term substitute when coverage was needed during the day for multiple grade levels. I advised Student Council, Safety Patrol, and coached flag football. Other roles included Faculty Representative and Logistics Coordinator on the Principal Hiring Committee, Member of the Staff Retreat Committee, Member of the Staff Social Sunshine Committee, and Team Lead of the Facilities Accreditation Domain. Teaching Fellow

The Alliance for Catholic Education AmeriCorps Teaching Fellows program places teachers in Catholic schools across the United States. As an ACE Teaching Fellow, I was also privileged to work through the AmeriCorps network. This program focuses on holistic development of both students and teachers. As part of ACE 26, I completed MEd Coursework at The University of Notre Dame and taught at a school in Austin, Texas for two complete school years, both of which were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. I taught 5th and 6th grade English Language Arts & Reading and Social Studies (US History & World Cultures), in addition to serving as a long-term substitute for science. I also advised the Student Council and Safety Patrol, and served as a coach for the middle school men's basketball team and school track & field team. Digital Assistant

In my role with Judge Jennifer Brunner's campaign, I served as a digital assistant. I worked with her statewide team to develop web content, including Youtube and Facebook media, which was critically important given the campaign restraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In November of 2020, Judge Brunner successfully defeated an incumbent Justice to serve as an Associate Justice on the Ohio Supreme Court, with over 55% of the vote. Justice Brunner has previously served as a judge for the 10th District Court of Appeals in Ohio, Ohio Secretary of State, and an international election observer. Show less

In my role with the University of Notre Dame's Department of Development and specifically the Annual Giving Division, I worked with our team to develop engaging events, interacted with donors and potential benefactors, promoted student-oriented development initiatives, and provided student input on certain projects.As a Student Ambassador, I served at Development Department events, recorded 'ThankView' videos for supporters, performed interactive calls with alumni and benefactors of the University, participated in filming a commercial, and other miscellaneous duties. In this role, I learned to work in a professional creative environment in which professionalism, high quality customer service, and compassion are essential to success. Other projects I worked on included Notre Dame Day (annual giving celebration), thank you note transcriptions, information entry into our database, and other miscellaneous office duties as assigned. Student Senator

I was elected Senator for St. Edward's Hall for the 2016-17 school year. In my role as Senator, I was a member of two departments: National Engagement & Outreach (NEO) and University Affairs. I was also the undergraduate representative on the University Parking Appeals Board. In my roles with the two executive departments, I helped plan and host a mock election debate that garnered wide community support from across the political spectrum. Other events/policies we worked on include the campus blue light/safety issue, the university bike share program, civic engagement initiatives (including Political Brew), and focusing on collaboration with other student clubs. The Student Senate focuses heavily on student policy issues that arise from administrative and legislative concerns at the university, state, and national levels. Issues of importance during my time in the senate included the protection of DACA students, sustainability policies at the university, dining hall renovations, library renovations, and a student-led evaluation of University Health Services. Collaborating with the Economic Development and City Management Teams, I developed an Economic Development Strategic Framework for the City of Fairborn, Ohio Municipal Government. This Strategic Framework is providing a vision and focused areas to strategize economic development initiatives and investments in Fairborn. In addition to this project, I completed the following: RFP (Request for Proposal) for a Neighborhood Housing Assessment & Strategy, Fairborn Codified Ordinance Update for Tall Grass/Home Maintenance Charges, attended Planning Board Meetings, assisted with the rollout of Spark Fairborn (Kitchen/Business Incubator), compiled proposed sites with relevant information for a potential large retail store, attended Dayton Startup Week, and other projects/duties as assigned. I was one of four Lloyd Meeds Policy Fellows, where I compiled briefing books related to a broad range of issues of interest to attorneys, government affairs specialists, and clients. I monitored press and Capitol Hill publications, drafted news alerts and memos for legislative updates, and performed extensive research on topics for clients and attorneys. I collaborated primarily with the Higher Education team, in which I compiled weekly federal funding reports that went directly to our higher education clients and legal team. Team Adviser

Serving as a Team Adviser for the National Student Leadership Conference, I worked with other college students and education experts to offer advanced high school students a policy immersion experience in which they learned about the policy process, U.S. Government institutions, campaigning basics, and other relevant political topics. The Political Action & Public Policy Program was housed at American University in Washington, D.C. As a Team Adviser for the NSLC Political Action & Public Policy Program, I served as a Resident Assistant at American University. In my role, I was also a Teaching Assistant and Team Adviser for the student program. In these duties, I helped coordinate leadership development, planned and taught classes to middle and high schoolers, and coordinated a senate simulation and campaign simulation. Other duties included chaperoning, mentoring, and miscellaneous organizational/office work. During my time with the NSLC, we hosted events with the Vice President of the United States, two U.S. Senators, a U.S. Representative, and the President of the NAACP. Show less

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Assisting Dr. Tanisha Fazal, formerly of Notre Dame's Political Science Department, I helped prepare and research information regarding Cyber Terrorism. The project, "Cyber Attacks and the Logic of Non-Denial Denials", focused on State actors and their involvement with cyber attacks on both public and private entities. In my role as a Research Assistant, I performed research on Cyber Terrorism, Warfare, and Security - Providing Research for the Non-Denial/Denial Theory of States. I gained an intermediate understanding of terminology and policy in cyber security, allowing me to understand the numerous articles, reports, and memos pertaining to cyber warfare. Through this work, I became extremely familiar with Lexis Nexis and the abundance of resources and platforms this company provides, as well as basic data collection methods and data software, including Stata. Community Fellow

As a community fellow for OFA, I worked with concerned voters and activists from across the State of Indiana to learn about citizen engagement, event planning, marketing, and issue activism. We held two state-wide meetings in Indianapolis in which we interacted with guest speakers and community leaders that are familiar and experienced with community engagement. We learned from a nationally recognized curriculum that focused on how to frame issues, target audiences, and build public awareness and engagement. In my focus group, we worked on climate change awareness and the local effects of climate change in northern Indiana. Our group planned and hosted a documentary screening on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, in which we welcomed the movie's producers and supporting staff to speak to community members and students about the effect of climate change in our immediate geographic region. The documentary focused on the Indiana Dunes and the path to sustainability in which economic opportunity and growth were balanced with environmental protection. In my role, I communicated with local media outlets and civic groups to advertise and inform them of the event, designed posters for advertising, introduced the guest speakers, and coordinated logistics including food, film screening technology, and venue reservations.
