Adrian did an exceptional job on recent projects in Make It Cheaper. He is a very productive person with vast knowledge beside his short working experience. Adrian is always very careful with everything he does which assure that the code he produce is of high quality and thoroughly tested. He is also very proactive and always looking to improve the company where he works and the team, which you can notice in his constructive feedback for the company and his passionate approach to code reviews. He is a great asset for any team!

Working with Adrian over the years has been has been a delight thanks to his keen code practise and personability. He is quick to pick up new technologies and methodologies, putting them to practise immediately. One of many examples is his quick transition into Go from Ruby where he quickly developed and released an internal package management system. Aside from his programming chops Adrian is a great team player. I've always described him as a 'slice of life' kind of person as he is always energetic, wanting to share ideas and genuinely checks up on peoples emotional well being. He would be a great asset on any team, especially one that needs a bit of a pick me up.

I worked at Palatinate part time where I was the sole developer brought in to integrate one of their existing systems with third party travel software. The challenges faced during this project include having to work with an undocumented SOAP XML API that produced no standard API response codes or consistency in its returned types. There were no API contracts or documentation to explain what had to be built so it was an exploratory piece of work that involved a lot of reverse engineering to fit the API to the needs of the business. - Built a new reporting infrastructure to assist with business intelligence. This involved building software that could allow the measurement of revenue KPIs and business level KPDs (Key performance drivers e.g. New signups, registrations, attendees etc), building a uniform abstraction that could be applied in both contexts. - Built a new attendee forecasting system using various statistical models to assist the company in managing venue capacity. - Produced features that increased membership confirmations by 30% using mailing interceptors. - Worked on a gym joining application for a client, Nuffield Health, where I spent time increasing test coverage on the codebase and working on design improvements. The client had an Enhancements budget where technical debt accumulations were given precedence and mutation testing was performed to increase the structural integrity of the application. Some of the work produced has been documented on my personal blog https://medium.com/@adrianbooth - Worked on a gym joining application for a client, Nuffield Health, where I spent time increasing test coverage on the codebase and working on design improvements. - Worked in a team of developers building a range of internal products to improve business efficiency - Built an invoicing system for the Finance department to prevent the overpaying of invoices which went on to save the business a lot of money - Built a holiday package admin system in Golang to assist internal staff in the managing of online packages. This new system replaced an outdated solution and allowed major efficiencies and workflow improvements to be gained. - Built an automated financial report generator for the Finance Team using Python / Flask and extracting data from Big Query in Google Cloud. Prior to this the team had to follow over 23 manual steps to generate a CSV report which we reduced down to a single button click. - Built the API for a new enquiry process on YourGolfTravel.com which provided smoother user flows and increased conversions substantially on release. - Integrated websites with third party providers such as Qubit and Emarsys. I worked as an intern for the European Equities team that ran a long/short equity trading strategy. My responsibilities included financial analysis, meeting company management to see where the business was going, meeting sell-side analysts to view the market's take on a company, and providing the portfolio manager with insight through my research.
