I was part of the Clinical Planning and Resource Management group (later absorbed by R&D Finance) which was responsible for the management of fund allocation across current clinical trials, forecasting project expenses, identifying trends and patterns in devising more efficient internal processes (e.g. budgeting and negotiations), creating budgets, managing relationships with key internal/external stakeholders and engaging with vendors throughout negotiations. ------ As a Senior Study Forecaster I advised senior management on allocation strategies of over $570 million of funds spread across multiple areas of research. Day to day interaction with clinical, legal, office of ethics and compliance, purchasing and affiliate teams spread across the globe was critical and with 10-25 projects at any given point in time, project management was a crucial component of the job. I worked directly with 3rd party vendors in negotiating contracts, achieving average savings of 5%-15% from originally quoted prices. I have worked with major CROs, central laboratories, imaging vendors and other specialty vendors. Moreover I supervised and made recommendations on large data intensive and other ad hoc projects. Some notable results included reducing contract negotiation times, reducing forecasting expense error margins, developing automated contracting processes and more for which my team and I were awarded a President's Award by the leaders of the company.
