I am the Health and Safety Lead for Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust. The Trust has grown considerably since my appointment going from two secondary academies to the current position of running five secondary academies and one primary academy. I am responsible for managing health and safety across The Trust and report in to the Premises Committee and Business Manager. My role involves risk assessment, audit and health and safety activity across the complete education timetable including Science, Design/Technology, P.E. Performing Arts and the general day to day running of the education environment including adult community education. I complete DSE and medical needs assessments and assist teachers and support staff with any health and safety needs that they have. Accident/incident reporting and investigation along with premises statutory compliance also falls under my remit. I currently chair the relevant health and safety committees across CMAT Show less

held a number of positions within Cattles Limited starting within branch management before moving into recruitment, training, audit, and health and safety. I was the Health and Safety Manager and Competent Person for the Cattles Limited Group of Companies. Cattles was a nationwide group of businesses that specialised in non-standard financial services. With more than 2500 employees in a national branch network that included both office and field based staff as well as call centre and second hand car dealership departments I had to manage the health and safety activity across the Group reporting to the Group HR Director and managed the Health and Safety Committees of the individual Companies within. My activities included auditing of branches and processes, health and safety including fire safety and warden training, and managing the risk assessment portfolio, health and safety policy and safe systems of work. Reason for leaving - Redundancy after financial problems and break up of business. Show less
