Nantes, France This internship mainly deals with the development of adapted inverse problem algorithm and gradient-free PSO and simplex. The measurements are carried out on an advanced optical bench being normal-normal and normal-hemispherical reflectance and transmittances. The measurements are carried out on an advanced optical bench being normal-normal and normal-hemispherical reflectance and transmittances. This data, In the wavelength domain, is applied firstly on the modified 2-flux model which is an approximation of the radiative transfer model in 1D . The strategies of inversion are determined with the 2-flux model which is secondly re-used to combine with a Monte-Carlo code which has already been developed, that can handle radiative transfer in 3D. Finally, the validated inverse approach is applied to a 3D finite element discrete ordinate method which solves directly the radiative transfer equation for semi-transparent samples with complex shapes.
