I've known Marcus to be a talented writer, a keen observer and reporter of the world around him, a self-motivated worker who needs no supervision, and otherwise, a good person and a gentle soul dedicated to making the world a better place. I expect him to do great things!

Marcus is an amazing writer, who was not only able to write articles, and essays on deadline, but generate successful story ideas which later made it to our website. More importantly, his energy, spirit and willingness to grow and learn made him a pleasure to work with, and watch his writing grow.

In addition to general administrative and producorial tasks, as the Musical Theater Fellow, I assist the Director of Musical Theater with evaluating musical theater submissions, maintaining the playwright database, coordinating in-house musical readings, contributing to dramaturgical research and script maintenance for season productions, and scouting readings and productions. I also oversaw development readings and productions for the 2016-2017 theatre season. Most of my responsibilities at Playwrights Horizons rely on the ability to memorize and relay detailed information in an engaging and factual manner, customer service orientation, and demonstrated problem solving experience, as well as excellent communication skills and it also requires an aptitude for fostering meaningful connections with diverse audiences. I have also processed ticket and membership orders for in-person and phone sales; prepared tickets for each performance and managing pre-show box office pick up; and troubleshooted problems for customers purchasing online. In addition, I also acted as dramaturg for Kristen Childs’ “Bella: An American Tail,” oversaw development readings of Michael R. Jackson's "A Strange Loop," Timothy Huang’s “Costs of Living,” and workshops such as Keith Glover & Josh Schmidt's "Saturday Night at the Estate.” I even ushered throughout productions of "Aubergine," "A Life" and "Rancho Viejo," and performed line readings with the cast and crew of “The Light Years.”
