Kirsi is one of the best professionals I have had the chance to work with. Always positive and highly motivated you can always count on her. She is a real problem solver and a great team player. I had the pleasure to work with her for some time, and I have to admit I was hugely impressed from start. Her dedication, commitment and accuracy has been of great support to me and the whole marketing department. Kirsi is a very task-focused, creative manager working towards delivering best results for the company. I enjoyed our cooperation and would definitely recommend working with her. Even if objectives every time were set very high, she was able to get there and further.. I learned a lot from her.

Have worked with Kirsi many times during my Nokia/MSFT career and I have learned that she is a reliable colleague that you can trust on. She is a truly Supply Chain, Production and Project Management professional with many years of experience in those business fields in many projects I can recommend here for any challenging job tasks you can think of. Kirsi has the ability that I value greatly to get things going as a team with positive attitude yet keep close track on the tasks so the project will be a success.

My main responsibility was to develop and deliver the products with success together with an excellent FitWood team. In practice this meant supplier selection based on selected technology, cost analysis, quality activities in proto and mass production phase and continuous follow-up and monitoring. The greatest thing at FitWood was that in a small company we all worked side by side supporting each other. We all did what was required. This position was fixed term. As a Supply Chain Project Manager I have been responsible for production related topics eg. Board Assembly, Final Assembly, Production Testing, Packing and Capacity implementation to meet mass production requirements in schedule, volume, quality and cost wise. Make or Buy and logistics related analysis were included in the concepting phases and ramp-down activities at the end of the product lifetime. Projects have been global and those have been internal and outsourced. Each projects have had their own requirements and specialities. Depending on the product structure the operating model, varianting point and number of variants variated. In some projects manufacturing cost, failure rate, scrap cost, hand time & test time were set as the key metrics to follow. In other projects product’s main challenges were final assembly and HW variation and logistics. Sometimes challenges were with availability and very demanding customer requirements. These all required deep understanding of the product’s supply chain, careful planning & monitoring. By doing so project team were able to deliver needed volumes according the schedule and quality criteria.

I was responsible for managing quality assurance and production development. Beginning of 1999, I was also responsible for labour welfare management. Within quality assurance position my main tasks were maintenance and development of the existing Quality System according to the ISO 9002 standard. The quality system was planned to expand to cover the quality of welding, and my main focus was to create a Quality System for Welding according to the SFS-EN 729-2 standard. The production development projects consisted the investment projects from investment plans to implementation in the cases of new or existing machine or machining centre. Reporting the analysis of profitability closed all the projects.

I was responsible for production development according to the theory I developed in my Master of Science thesis. The theory included planning of the product mix in the workshop. Based on this mix I studied material flows and I drew a layout for the workshop. I created a production-control plan. This plan was implemented and I was responsible for budgeting, scheduling and supervising the construction work. Also an investment for a robot welding station was carried out. Master of Science thesis focused on Planning of the Production System with Grade Excellent (5) (scale of grades: 5=excellent, 1= satisfactory & passed)
