      • Sep 2012 - Nov 2018

I volunteered with the Angeles Softball Academy for over six years. As a team we did a great amount of work in low-income, high-risk communities. We ran canned food drives, assisted with Thanksgiving and Christmas breakfasts and dinners in different cities; we assisted children with arts and crafts and provided a warm meal for those who needed it the most. I was also an assistant coach, and worked with the younger girls on the team. I helped them learn he basics of running bases, holding and swinging a bat, throwing, catching, and fielding skills. • Aug 2016 - May 2017

I was in the Peer Counseling program at San Gabriel High School from 10th to 11th grade, and then I was recommended by a teacher to become a peer assistant. As a Peer Assistant, I met with my peers, and served as an outlet for them to speak about any issues they. Every week I met with 8 individuals and assisted them with personal and academic challenges. I was also a mandated reporter, therefore I was well-informed on the different issues that had to be reported, other than that everything was kept confidential and my peers trusted me. This is what made me want to purse a career in Guidance Counseling (specifically high school). Show less

Mentored an eight-year-old child who was possibly on the spectrum and helped her develop her social-emotional skills. I devoted an hour (one-on-one) with her every Friday; completed arts and crafts projects, played board games, and had conversations about her emotions, friendships, and behaviors.
