Feb 2007 - Jan 2022
The main part of my role at Cancer Fund for Children is to maintain a stable IT infrastructure to ensure my colleagues can use their IT systems to best serve young people in Ireland living with cancer. I took on the additional role of Facilities Officer in November 2012 and oversee the maintenance of 3 buildings, two of which accommodate therapeutic breaks for our Service Users. Main duties and responsibilities: I develop and execute the organisation's IT strategy that aligns with the charity’s strategic aims, operational plans & initiatives. I worked alongside our charity partner to develop Cancer Fund for Children's intranet and provide ideas for evolving the charity’s intranet. I regularly edit the intranet and have produced an IT knowledge base for staff to easily access answers to common IT queries. I provide reactive support to staff with technical queries and provide training for use of our systems to new staff, including procedural documentation. I monitor and maintain Cancer Fund for Children computer systems and networks, including emails, back-up of server data and Microsoft updates. I have produced the Cancer Fund for Children's Data Protection Policy, E-Communications Policy, Business Continuity Plan, Fire Policy and Health and Safety Policy. I have developed two databases for Cancer Fund for Children from an off the shelf package and highly customised them to meet our organisational needs. I oversee the PPM contracts for all Cancer Fund for Children premises and have project managed internal building projects to upgrade our facilities. I carry out weekly checks on premises, including emergency lighting, flush records, fire extinguisher checks, first aid box checks and testing of alarms. Show less
