At Caring Services, I have learnt to work collaboratively as a team with schools and Special Educational Needs Coordinators in order to help neurodivergent children follow a curriculum. By providing one to one support, I was able to reinforce learning concepts so that children with special needs are able to attain their set goals and objectives. I have enhanced my organisational skills by assisting in-class preparation, as well as recording students’ registers to ensure proper safeguarding procedures are met. By offering support during recreational times/play activities, I have assisted teachers in ensuring students improve their communicational skills, thus helping to drive social, physical, emotional and intellectual development. At Lift Hair, my role as receptionist and store assistant was to personally assist all stylists’ appointment schedules and maintain the organisation of the store, supplies and equipment. I would assist with making and unpacking orders to ensure the store was consistently well stocked, as well as helping in the managing and balancing of the books. By organising phone calls/and coordinating all forms of social media, I was able to expedite the booking of client appointments and arrange product sales (which required a range of software knowledge). I helped a psycho-educational facility with organising their office and therapy equipment to ensure that sessions would run smoothly and meet the needs of the patients, who are on the autism spectrum. Furthermore, I assisted with building "PEC" books for non-verbal children and also helped to lead small field trip groups to different Italian cities so that the patients would be exposed to new experiences and apply the skills they learn in their sessions to real-life scenarios. In 2014, I collaborated with scientists on a research and conservation project in the Cayman Islands regarding sea turtles, helped with fieldwork and organising large amounts of data pertaining to the number of nests on the island, the hatching success rate, which species of turtle, etc. Assisted in identifying different animal species for research catalogues at the DoE office. In 2015, I did my IB internal assessment on which species of sea turtle experienced a higher hatch success rate on Seven Mile Beach (Grand Cayman) to further help with research into the topic.
