I'm the founder of my company - Emerald Freight Express which commenced business in 1981 and has now become Irelands' premier Independent Freight Forwarder, serving Irelands' main ports including Dublin, Cork , Shannon and Belfast. This year marks our 30th year in business. My fellow directors are John Mc Dermott and Tom Freeney (now retired).To mark our 30th year celebration we recently re-vamped and launched our new content rich,fully optimised and fully integrated multilingual website (www.emeraldfreight.com).All three of us have worked in the Irish Freight Industry since the mid sixties and during our apprenticeship years we gained a wealth of experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage and international transportation, which has proven invaluable to the success of Emerald Freight Express, during the past 30 years.The comapny now offers a wide range of services including 3PL logistics and Supply Chain Management including the management of Project Cargo.Emerald Freight Express is ISO certified,which guarantees a high quality service to our customers and overseas agents.We are also certified by the Department of Transport so we are fully compliant with all Air Cargo security regulations.Furthermore we are now at the advanced stage of securing AEO certification which will raise our security profile with customs/revenue.One of our gratest assets is our extensive overseas agency network which enables us to service virtually any shipment by Air, Ocean or Road Freight moving to or from Ireland at minimal notice and at extremely competitive cost.Emerald Freight Express provides an excellent range of services and its no co-incidence that our success is maintained by our people who are passionate in the perfomance of their duties to serve our customers 24/7, 365.

I joined Air Freight International as an Exports Supervisor and I enjoyed nine fantastic years working for the late great Pakenham Pim (RIP). As Air Freight International were the Irish agents for Emery Air Freight I gained first hand knwoledge of cargo consolidation and the strict disciplines which made Emery such an outstanding success as one of teh first gloable players in the Air Freight market.
