I am a big believer that yoga is for every body no matter how small or big, old or young, no matter our shape or color, gender or stage in life and everything in between. So when the opportunity to get certified to teach children’s yoga presented itself I jumped! I knew what yoga had done for me and I had a feeling it could do the same for kids. Boy was I right and so surprised to see the kids crave relaxation so much. The program I went through, Yogees Yoga 4 Kids, combines children’s literature, poetry, and songs with yoga postures, breathing, meditation and mindfulness techniques. I saw children go from the highest of highs to the calmest of calm in our short time together. My mind was blown! The end of yoga known as Shavasana, aka yoga naptime, was their favorite part. They literally did not want to get up when it was over. This is when I knew I was on the right track teaching kids yoga! Show less
