This challenging and multifaceted role required both strong interpersonal and administrative skills. I hit the ground running, and was responsible for running our Crawley tuition center, welcoming families, holding trials, publicising our center at remote marketing events and managing a tutor team from day one. In addition, I was lucky enough to play an active role within the tutoring team, supporting children aged between 4 - 14 to build their confidence in not only their literacy and numeracy skills, but also in their identity as a fearless learner. I was responsible for analysing the data provided by our online learning tool, feeding back to parents regarding the progress their child was making, and ensuring we tailored our support to meet the needs of each individual child. Working with families with EAL or with children and young people with SEND required a sensitive and often creative approach; I was careful to ensure we always started where the child or young person was at, placing them at the heart of everything we did with regards to both their learning and their development as an independent and confident learner.
