Projects have a wide range of focus, from field work, herbicide evaluation and genetic engineering. Recent projects include:• Engineering a new herbicide resistance trait in wheat using CRISPR-Cas9 technology• Utilizing molecular and genetic information to better understand herbicide resistance mechanism• Future evolutionary complications from herbicide resistance, and creating a genomic database and bioinformatic resources to more quickly problem solve• Helped support the development of a copy number variation system in Palmer Amaranth that also assessed the fitness impacts on glyphosate resistance. • Assisted on a project that looked at genes such as EPSPS, psbA, and ALS in Palmer Amaranth and Waterhemp species.   Transformed the main and adjacent campuses at Colorado State University for the summer and fall. Spearheaded the pollination gardens to transition the flower beds into a resource that provided beauty for the residents but also nurtured the surrounding pollinators.
