I taught Pre-K for a long-term leave. In Pre-K, I instructed approximately 14 students in reading, mathematics, social studies, and science. I taught reading units including animals, nursery rhymes, movement, farm, and growing/changing. Mathematical concepts taught included number sense, patterns, calendar, and money. Science concepts taught included seasons, weather and mixing colors. Social studies concepts included seasonal holidays and months. I administered assessments and created lessons to engage and improve student scores. I assisted students with daily assignments, as well as communicated with parents to facilitate student learning at home as well as school. When this long-term Pre-K position ended in April 2013, I began subbing in elementary, middle, and high schools. I instructed lessons in reading, mathematics, social studies, and science. I maintained classroom management and control by supervising students, and by doing so I insured students were safe and continuing to learn in their regular teacher’s absence. Show less

At home football games, I worked as a greeter for the majority of the night, checking tickets and welcoming skybox holders and their guests to Bryant Denny; I also relieved people for their breaks, relieving stair staff and elevator staff who have similar jobs to those of a greeter, as well as attended to skyboxes. The attending of skyboxes entailed checking ice buckets and making sure trash was emptied; it was making sure the skybox holders and guests were pleased with their box, their food, and their experience. At home basketball games and gymnastics meets, I worked in the Club Room where I was a greeter. I checked tickets and affixed wristbands, making sure each person in the Club Room was supposed to be there and had a good experience. Show less

Medical Office Assistant
-
Sep 2005 - Apr 2008
My primary responsibility was filing, but I also would help mail statements at the end of the month and follow up on past due statements. I called patients to let them know of upcoming appointments, as well as would answer the phones and answer questions if I could or direct them to the person who could answer their questions appropriately. I would help out as needed: if the nurse was out, I would help clean the rooms and call back patients; if the person responsible for billing fell behind, I would call patients and their emergency contact(s) for her; if the business manager needed help in organizing his office, I would stay as long as necessary to get it organized.
