      • Apr 2015 - Oct 2016

Fixed term contract. I worked in the NHS on multi-site backup systems covering the NW, mainly Rochdale, Bolton, Bury and Wigan. This consisted of daily checks, working with HP tape libraries and disk to disk to tape systems. A variety of backup software including Backup Exec, Veeam, Dell EqualLogic snapshots and NetApp on command system manager. This involved remote working and site visits across the North West. Making sure regular successful backups are made, relevant off site and monthly archives are taken and stored in the correct manner is highly important when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential data such as patient records. The role also incorporated hardware monitoring of each sites servers, logging failures such as PSUs and hard drives in SANs and NASs and replacing as needed. This role required me to have good time management skills, working remotely but also with a larger team in different areas and a high level of attention to detail. Show less

Senior IT Consultant. I was employed on a fixed term contract to work on a customer’s site in Manchester. Working on a highly sensitive government bid for a nuclear decommissioning project with two multinational businesses. I was responsible for around 100 on site users and around 50 users working remotely in the USA. I worked closely with both company’s IT departments in the USA. Daily work consisted of making sure backups were completed correctly in Veeam and the security of these drives. Checking and being an onsite contact to help maintain the 20 high availability clustered servers that were running in VMware. Along with all the users using supplied equipment or their own as well as all the VMware virtual desktops. And managing permissions for users with in the SharePoint site. Plus many other daily tasks from video conferencing, PC/laptop repair and printer maintenance. We had about 90 onsite users with a further 50 working remotely in different time zones back in the USA. Making it an almost 24/7 operation. I have enhanced security clearance which allowed me to work on the system and the restricted area which very few people had access too. I was involved in staff training on the system and being on call at critical times in the project. I worked with a lot of senior people on very specialised and sensitive information, both onsite and remotely back in the USA. Show less
