Maddie is an exemplary researcher, communicator and leader who I have witnessed balance a diverse range of tasks simultaneously with a keen eye for quality management and data analysis. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Maddie for more than 7 months on a specialized team of the Indiana State Department of Health's COVID-19 Contact Tracing project. Maddie is the type of coworker who does much more than what is required of her: she has devised curricula for new trainees, scripts for interfacing with various audiences as well as led efforts to standardize operating procedures. Her background as a professor shines as she excels at training and leading others while maintaining a sense of humor and patience. I recommend Maddie for any role related to project management, research or instructional design.
Julie (Frieswyk) Grozav
I met Maddie at an event she had orchestrated around sustainable living for both vendors and organizations while she was a senior in college. I was immediately impressed by not only her ambition in manifesting programs around her beliefs and values, but also in her humble and friendly approach . The non-profit I worked with offered Maddie a summer internship and she came in with sleeves rolled up. She attended all meetings, was prompt and reliable. Whether she was assisting in craft activities in our summer camps, helping to compile data, or writing up a newsletter, Maddie attended to each project with the same enthusiasm and attention to detail. She was a pure joy to work with and I am sure that she will be making a large and positive impact wherever her journey takes her.

As a contact tracer for the Indiana State Department of Health's (ISDH) COVID-19 response program, I interviewed thousands of residents exposed to or infected with the novel coronavirus. I worked with them to collect important information and share guidance and resources, maintaining their data in compliance with federal and agency standards. This work helped us limit the spread of the virus in Indiana communities.
