Munir is a strongly committed educator, who consistently demonstrates a passion for developing and innovating K-8 STEM education in Ontario. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working along side Munir Mahtab during our undergraduate and graduate years at the University of Toronto, OISE. As such, I have been privileged to witness first-hand his academic, and professional growth. Within all of his teaching experiences, Munir emphasizes a strong dedication to critical thinking and student-centred learning approaches. Coupled with his eloquent communication, Munir’s enthusiasm for the sciences truly resonates with his students as he consistently manages to engage his classes in meaningful ways. Embodying both the roles of a leader and a learner, Munir is cognizant and receptive to diverse student-learning needs, by emphasizing diversity and equity as tenets governing his practice. There is no doubt he will be an exemplary teacher to any board, as well as a tireless crusader for STEM fields within elementary education.
