Dr. Fidelis Ossom

Hunter is a hard working professional who understands the value of dedication and loyalty. My remembrances of Hunter go back nearly four years during his degree program at Northeastern State University. We couldn’t have produced a finer graduating senior from our business college than we did in Mr. Palmer. I was also his mentor and academic adviser during his program. Hunter was thorough in his school work, shared responsibilities very well in collaborative projects with others, and excelled in leadership qualities. He was always poised to learn and it was encouraging to see that he remained motivated even during the toughest part of the program. Today, he has matured into a more self-motivated individual and he is growing toward a level of expertise that I believe he will eventually achieve. An important trait that Hunter exhibited in our program was that of seriousness and engagement. He never shied away from difficult tasks but endeavored to give it his best. He was always determined to perform well and that was evident when he put in the extra time to his obligations because he understood the concept of task completion. Hunter is also an individual of high moral character and he takes the responsibility of being ethical seriously. He is a man of integrity and responsibility, respects his peers, and can function very well in diverse communities. Mr. Palmer understands that a business career not only demands business knowledge but also an awareness of the ever increasing changing environment with all its economic, cultural, and political expectations. He will undoubtedly bring this same credit to any organization of which he becomes a part. I have watched him grow mentally, cognitively and emotionally. Those who know him, respect him. He was well spoken of by other faculty members who had interaction with him or had taught him. I am convinced that if afforded the opportunity to become a select individual in your organization, that he will exemplify the level of performance needed in today's workforce and can be depended upon to do a good job. I seriously recommend him!

    • Office Administrator, Assistant Staffing Coordinator, and Payroll Clerk

SchedulingAs assistant staffing coordinator I organize and prepare work schedules for employees to ensure the appropriate amount of staff is available for each work shift. This involves working with internal employees, as well as external sources such as temporary staffing agencies. This also includes approving and scheduling time off for employees and ensures vacant positions are filled to meet staffing requirements.ReportingI create and maintain daily staffing reports, which include verifying employees' work hours, requested time off, as well as job vacancies. Inconsistencies, job vacancies and scheduling concerns are reported to management to address. Reporting responsibilities also include verifying employee work hours with the payroll department on a routine basis to ensure payroll is disbursed accurately.Human ResourcesAlong with scheduling and monitoring employee work schedules, I also assist human resources in a variety of ways, because many human resources functions are directly affiliated with a staffing coordinator's responsibilities. This includes assisting in the orientation of new employees, explaining the requirements of work shifts and hours, as well as training new employees on systems or programs used to report work hours. The staffing coordinator may also receive workers' compensation information to appropriately facilitate staff scheduling, then forward the information to human resources. Other responsibilities may include basic administrative tasks to assist human resources staff with their daily activities.• Assign and monitor clerical, administrative and secretarial responsibilities and tasks among office staff.• Allocation of resources to enable task performance.• Coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency.• Evaluate and manage staff performance.• Recruit and select office staff.• Organize orientation and training of new staff members.• Coach and discipline office staff.
