My main responsibility was to revive and run the social media accounts for Public Relations and Online Communications at Dundalk Institute of Technology, this included the revival of the Twitter and Facebook accounts. It also included gaining more followers on each account and more interaction with students, PR professionals and lecturers. Each week I hosted a weekly Twitter discussion with the aim of building morale among the existing PR students, attracting the interest of potential PR students. Another aim was to also get PR professionals involved in the discussion to gain attention for the Public Relations and Online Communications course at DkIT and so students could see the opinion of PR professionals and interact with them through social media. Through Twitter I posted a question to the followers of PR at DkIT and pro actively tried to get people who did not follow the account involved.
