  Community placement involving 7-week project with fellow student. "Darebin Community Health Diabetes Education service review" This project involved: - Reviewing socioeconomic and demographic profile of the Darebin population and DCH clients - Planning and conducting focus groups and individual interviews with key stakeholders within DCH. - Identifying external health services and conducting individual interviews to enable benchmarking. - Formulating recommendations and future research avenues - Disseminating the findings via online audio-visual presentation and formal written report. In addition, effectively worked within a team structure in delivering a nutrition program for newly-arrive refugees and asylum seekers. My specific responsibilities were planning and delivering a core component of the supermarket tour, and delivering a coke demonstration. I observed many aspects of community dietetics including paediatric dietetic consultations, Annual Diabetes Review Clinic appointments (podiatry, optometry), nutrition education presentations, group education sessions (various client groups). I attended the Darebin City Council Early Network Forum and observed dietetics and speech pathology working together in promoting language and fine motor skill development through mealtimes.
