Qualities I find in Russ are that he is enthusiastic, loyal, dedicated, and honest; he possesses a wonderful sense of humor, balanced with a great deal of integrity. Infusing his tutorial sessions with laughter is one of Russ’ best tools, but he also understands when it’s necessary to be more exacting in order to derive the best from even the most difficult and problematic students. Russ believes in making education more accessible to all students, especially in historically diverse and economically disadvantaged communities; he provides one-on-one academic support to underperforming students with a range of issues from learning disabilities, neurodevelopment disorders, social/behavioral problems, and/or who may be emotionally disturbed. I recommend Russ without reservation. He has added immensely to our impressive tutoring corps here at Visions. Saideh Malekafzali

Russell always comes in with a great energy and a team attitude. He is flexible and always willing to help without complaining. I enjoy how he puts his passion into his work. Can can be focused and even stern when needed, but overall keeps a fun and positive tone, which I find makes his interactions with others very productive. Musically, he is very talented and always looking to grow. He is versatile in both traditional/classical area as well as popular, jazz and improvising. He literally "plays well with others" by collaborating on music with our other staff as well. He is respectful and kind and a great asset to our team.

Substitute teaching all subjects from grades 7-12. Helping the youth in my local area to learn not just what's in the lesson plan but also improvising on the fly to teach them about respect, diligence, and responsibility in their everyday lives. Street Urchinz is a reggae/rock band based out of Sacramento, California. Their sound derives almost entirely from deep roots reggae & classic rock. The sound they create is a mix of reggae, ska, punk rock, soul, and classic rock, giving them a unique balance that can appease to most anyone who enjoys music. I handled providing first point of contact/orientation of services to over 200 small businesses and organizations, while helping to grow and identify prospective clients/sales. I conducted extensive research on Social Media and SEO best practices, ultimately creating and refining a PPT slide deck for client webinars aimed at helping small business owners improve their own online marketing (see my presentation below). I often contributed ideas and feedback during weekly meetings regarding UX/UI, SEO, Social Media integration, and some high-level marketing and sales presentations. Show less
