As a board member, I read grant proposals, work with applicants on their projects, write and review approval documents for accepted grants. As vice-chair, I am responsible for writing the Annual Budget Report. This past year I created a quarterly check-in system for projects, so that we can continue to be involved in projects and have a better idea of project progress. My work at the living machine consists of running the Ion Chromatography (IC) test on water samples from both the living machine and Plum Creek, once every two weeks. Additionally, I teach recent hires the inner workings of IC and filtration. I also run a check system, known as OPs on the living machine and its weekly function. During weekly staff meetings, I take minutes and keep track of weekly assignments. My main task as a volunteer for Cleveland Legal Aid was as an intake worker for free legal advice clinics held throughout Lorain and Cuyahoga County. As an intake worker, I met with clients and gather information about why they were at the clinic and what we could do for them. Afterward, I would meet with a volunteer attorney to discuss what the client needs help with before bringing the attorney to the client.
