Bio
Ida Lewis
Karen L. Barr was the photography instructor at a senior retreat I attended during the summers 2011 and 2012 . Her method was consistent, clear and easy for a novice to understand. She was organized and well prepared for every class. Her style was humorous and kept everything light for seniors who may have been uncertain regarding their success learning new technical skills. She was receptive and supportive, non-judgmental and friendly, making this a very positive learning experience. She provided a means to continue classes beyond the retreat... offering her time and expertise for on-line learning or forming a follow-up class which would involve her traveling to... if enough people were interested. In just a week, we learned photography skills and a way of seeing the art of photography that will remain with us for a lifetime.

I had the pleasure of working with Karen when I was the Traveling Photography Manager with the Harlem Globetrotters in 2008. Karen worked with us in several of the New England area venues, including TD Bank Garden in Boston and DCU in Worcester, to name a couple. At every venue, she displayed a high energy level, great attitude & interaction with Globetrotter Fans and a level of professionalism that made my job much easier.
