A syllabus was generated for the course describing the class and its expectations, providing a calendar for the assignments, critiques, plus a firing timeline; five assignments were completed in this class- each with its own handout sheet describing the assignment in full, what was expected of the student, and key features each assignment should provide.Critiques were held for each assignment followed by an introduction to the next assignment and a demonstration on new techniques that should be incorporated. Electric kiln loading, firing, and unloading were active throughout the semester. During workdays students were approached to assist them in any questions they had or technical problems they were experiencing. Class discussions were also implemented on current and social issues.Lectures, in the form of power points, were given for some assignments to provide a history and a visual reference for how the assignment should be executed. Kilns, glazes, and other topics were also incorporated into the course throughout the semester.
