I first met Rowan several years ago and we became friends quickly. During this time, I have seen Rowan's skill increase rapidly as he continued his studies. From a technical perspective, he is able to create garments that are incredibly innovative while classically well constructed. When he creates costumes or other recreations, he goes above and beyond, so far as to sample patterns and recreate fabric to be an exact replica of something that only exists as a 2D image otherwise. His concept design is original and interesting, and I know him well enough to know that a great amount of thought and detail goes into his design process. Additionally, Rowan has a deep interest in the business of fashion. While his passion is designing, he is always aware of the way that fashion interacts with society. He has shown a deep commitment to both social justice advocacy and environmental sustainability in his work. Overall, I would highly recommend Rowan for any position that involves innovative thinking, quality design work, and flawless attention to detail.
