Cebeco Seeds (UK) Played several increasingly important roles in plant breeding division of a privately owned international agricultural company with multi -billion dollar revenues. As part of the management team I was involved in transforming this company from a downsizing seed wholesaler to a successful International Seed Breeder with market leading varieties. Operations and Product Manager (1999 -2004) Managed all purchasing and processing functions. Developed and implemented a company-wide go-to-market plan for all pulse and cereal varieties, including market research, analysis and production of sales support materials. Liaise with product managers from 7 European countries. Procurement and Production Manager (1994 – 2004) Responsible for all purchasing and processing operations. Develop and maintain a portfolio of professional seed growers to raise quality and consistency. Place contract acreage with farmer partners by optimizing in house resources and out-sourcing. Negotiated processing contracts and managed day to day processing and packing of high grade seed crops at up to 7 co-packing facilities including inventory and quality control. Reduced crop rejections by 40% through building a network of professional seed growers. Successfully managed a $2mm budget, and came in under budget for five consecutive years. Coordinated the development of bespoke ERP software to link sales and purchase ledgers to inventory to better manage the inventory, to improve reporting of inventory and for accurate prediction of cost of production. Oversee all aspects of Quality Control to meet and exceed intercompany and regulatory standards. Recognized as the internal expert on Seed Certification Regulations.
