Project Manager in the Engineering and Construction Department. Department budget / direct management in tens of millions for '08-'09 * Saved 30% off bids for construction of Commercial disposal site. * Provided corporate management with business risk / cash-flow analysis and options to mitigate current funding challenges. * Vetting proposals from Business Development for new acquisitions resulted in a concept change from individual acquisitions to a coordinated regional solution. * Identified critical risk of regulatory misstep that would have lost significant yearly revenue. Managed 100+ projects up to $500K and completed primary technical contents for regulatory permitting of hazardous waste disposal wells, salt caverns, air emissions, surface water discharges, and ground-water remediation projects. Successfully completed research, data-gathering and computer modeling to assess risks and chemical transport in deep and shallow geological formations. Key Accomplishments Developed first technically complete permit application for oilfield waste disposal cavern in Louisiana. Developed / negotiated programs for sampling and statistical analysis of groundwater monitoring data for major petrochemical, fertilizer and steel facilities. Integrated multidisciplinary input, including geology, reservoir-testing, and operational constraints in petitioning to demonstrate long-term geological sequestration of hazardous waste. Demonstrated through computer modeling a mechanism for anomalous pressures in a salt dome cap rock formation. This demonstration became the basis for injection permit approval for this site Achieved consensus on difficult stakeholder issues in permitting a Commercial Hazardous Waste Disposal facility in the Midwest. Drafted and gained acceptance of framework document for applying EPA Quality Assurance Project Plan methodology to Hazardous injection well petitioning. EPA requested use of this framework in subsequent petitioning at other sites. Show less
