I worked on the line, 12 hrs a day, 6 days a week. Each night tossing about approximately 25-30,000 lbs of iron castings per 12 hr shift... I was to use a hydraulic gun, to remove sprues from the castings (an hour after they were poured into their sand molds). The castings were extremely hot and we had to use two different types of gloves with sleeves, for protection.
