Undergraduate Summer Research Intern
-
May 2021 - Aug 2021
Contributed to the preparation of a manuscript, Falls in Mid-Life: A Scoping Literature Review. The responsibilities I undertook as a co-author of the manuscript included conducting literature searches to extract peer-reviewed publications and grey literature, data extraction and presentation, locating missed results prior to 2019, review of included studies for content analysis, identifying and correcting data irregularities, and overall contribution to the revision and writing of the manuscript. Attended 17 research skill development sessions over the course of the internship. My internship concluded with presenting a poster showcasing Falls in Mid-Life: A Scoping Literature Review at an online research conference where I kept conference attendees engaged through demonstrating enthusiastic communication skills and effective information translation. As a result of my outward engagement, dedication, and success, I was invited to be a panellist at the USRI Program Information Session to present my experience to the 2022 cohort of prospective USRI supervisors and students.
