I was a student of Michael's at Central New Mexico CC paramedic program. I must wholehearted say Mike is an exceptional instructor, program coordinator and mentor. He has a truly unique ability to communicate material, from simple to complex, in a manner that is comprehensible, engaging and often amusing. Mike could be tough or compassionate, depending on what the situation dictated, but he was always fair. I was lucky to have such a passionate and tireless teacher for my paramedic studies. Rock On Mike!!!

I met Michael at the University of New Mexico. Michael has shown to be a friend, colleague, teacher and tutor. Michael constantly portrays an individual that is dedicated to friends and family, yet assumes his role as an EMS Provider and Educator very seriously, and is a wealth of knowledge to both current EMS providers, as well as the students he mentors. Michael is always willing to stop and assist those in need of assistance, as well as serve as the professional example needed to those entering this profession. Michael is truely one to emulate when searching for a role model to those making EMS their career choice.

Apr 2022 - Present
With the addition of a dedicated Dean of Health Sciences at Mesa Community College (MCC), MCC had more than one occupational Dean with responsibility for Career and Technical Education (CTE) program oversight. The change of leadership structure prompted me to re-evaluate the working title for my position. In the interest of shared decision making, I solicited ideas for a new working title from stakeholders in my division and provided an "Opportunity to Rename the Dean" survey to faculty and staff. The results of the survey prompted me to change my working title effective immediately to the #1 option selected which was, "Dean of Instruction | Applied Sciences & Technology, Business, CIS, and Justice Studies." For those who suggested, "Dean of the Cool Stuff we do at the College," we can save that option for future use...after we develop "flying cars" an "teleportation" programs :). Thank you to faculty and staff who provided feedback; it greatly aided in the decision making process! Show less
