Rick is an excellent instructional coach. He does all that is expected of him and more. In addition to the usual review and feedback, he takes the time to get to know the students. This is not listed in his job duties, but he understands that differentiation is key in teaching and in coaching, and that you cannot help a teacher grow in their practice without a thorough understanding of the population she is working with. Additionally, Rick is well versed in the standards, district wide and network wide expectations, and content. He is truly interested in doing what's best for his students and isn't afraid to go up to bat for them. I am fortunate to have Rick as an instructional coach, and I have his time and dedication to thank for the growth I have seen in myself this year.
