I worked with Katie at Alcatel-Lucent and it was one of the best professional experiences of my life. She is dedicated, focused and passionate about what she does. She is extremely good at finding the question behind the question: all our customers (internal and external) were delighted to work with her because she wouldn’t rest until she found the real issue behind their request. She designs creative, out-of-the-box solutions, is very personable and, at the same time, incredibly analytical. To me, she possesses the perfect balance between technical competence and interpersonal skills. Any company would be lucky to have her and I hope one day I will have the privilege of working with her again.

Katie and I worked together for over 10 months to produce learning solutions across multiple releases of a services project for the same customer. During this time, Katie demonstrated consistent professionalism, reliability and subject matter expertise that enabled successful project delivery despite very tight deadlines and numerous stakeholders.

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, I am accountable for the product roadmap of Beamtree's top products, PICQ® and RISQ - PICQ® and RISQ allow hospitals across Australia and the world to improve outcomes for patients and obtain fair benchmarking services. These services now assess 90% of inpatient activity in Australia. - Conduct user experience practices e.g. user journey mapping, usability testing and prototyping, structuring and formalising the collection of user data, to inform product development - Lead Lean practices such as root cause analysis and Hoshin Kanri-style visualisation of the company strategy, to build more sustainable solutions in alignment with Beamtree's goals - In close partnership with the engineering manager, I ensure our team functions at optimal performance and delivers the most value to our users - Advocating for a product-led culture, I work closely with the customer success team to obtain historical user insights, to stay on top of current user issues, and to strengthen my relationship with our customers. Examples of life @ ThoughtWorks...Product Owner, ThoughtWorks Internal projectEarly on in the pandemic, I was assigned as a PO for an internal product, aimed to help maintain the productivity of the growing number of ThoughtWorkers who were suddenly ‘on the beach’ (unassigned to billable projects). Questioning the need for such a solution, I used Lean Problem Solving practices to investigate the real problem, uncover root causes and draw out experiments to find a sustainable solution. One of the successful experiments turned out as a product in itself. I collaborated with a UX designer to build a prototype, conducted user testing, iterated the product and launched it: the Proposal Writing Guide is an internal site that works as a repository of tools, templates, guidelines, solution examples and much more. It brings together in one place invaluable knowledge and practical instruments that enable ThoughtWorkers of all levels to perform pre-sales activities.Shortly after launch, the Office of the CCO turned the PWG into a global product, available on the TW intranet and serving as a standard for all ThoughtWorkers, worldwide.Agile Change Agent We were engaged by a large Australian bank to help drive sustainable change when solving complex problems, introducing and fostering Lean and Agile principles. Working with the bank’s senior service managers, we:• facilitated root cause analysis sessions for the area’s most complex issues• co-created experiments to find solutions • guided the team through a PDCA cycle while running experiments• as part of the experiments, created tools to improve the productivity of hundreds of IT service managers • helped them design a new process to organise and triage IT requests• developed a set of prioritisation criteria for their work, and • designed and built a fully customised board game, where Service Managers had the chance to learn and use Agile and Lean tools to improve their productivity. Data Migration - I joined this UK-AU distributed team in a large, global food-delivery website, to work on an extremely complex migration program. Working in a small team of three, we established the Data Migration stream for the program, defining the tasks and deliverables required to ensure functional and accurate data migration for the entire program. My tasks included workshop facilitation to elicit data migration requirements, detailed data mapping, building and maintaining the team's backlog on JIRA, daily updates to the wider team and program managers in AU and UK, and liaising with business stakeholders to obtain information and critical decisions. A few relevant engagements: Enabler of Program Communications - Large Australian Telco In this fast-paced, top-priority Customer Experience program of work with high business visibility, I excelled at enabling successful communications with key stakeholders in all levels of the organisation. An urgent cultural shift was required to establish customer-centric practices across the business. Maintaining a proactive, solutions-focussed attitude, I worked closely with the program director to gain buy-in from different business units. Aiming to keep up with the client's culture, I created a customised, collaborative approach for a Communications Plan, running six workshops to capture data. I also identified staff personas for the design of an all-staff CX Principles e-learning, and facilitated the creation of the team’s new SharePoint site. Agile BA - NSW government agency Working with a highly collaborative Agile team, I successfully delivered a rich backlog of business needs by applying Design and Agile techniques. Through a highly collaborative Discovery phase, I worked closely with key stakeholders defining suitable personas, and helped to map their journeys. High-level Epics were then defined, enabling team members to break these down to lower level User Stories through deeper conversations and delineated Acceptance Criteria. This resulted in an agreed 'ideal state', ready for further refinement and development through Agile delivery. Change Manager - Large Australian Telco Working in a challenging context full of uncertainty, I demonstrated excellent stakeholder engagement skills gaining customer collaboration and swift understanding of business dynamics and stakeholder requirements. My main deliverable was a complete Change Management Plan for a Sales Transformation program that involved the implementation of a new CRM solution. Show less

Alcatel-Lucent University has undergone a global re-structuring process which generated new functions in different parts of the globe. Due to my previous achievements and knowledge I was appointed to the Learning Solutions Architect (LSA) role in the Sydney office. As an LSA I am often nominated for the management of both technical and soft-skills projects, due to the eclectic nature of my achievements to date: I have successfully designed and managed the deployment of highly technical learning solutions to large external customers (such as Telstra and NBN Co), as well as advanced employee-learning programs requiring change management interventions and the development of managerial skills.Projects delivered include Alcatel-Lucent's largest Australian customer, NBN Co., a multi-million dollar account where I was responsible for the end-to-end learning solutions of a sub-contract worth nearly AU$500K. Internally I delivered the development of a strategic mindset-change project budgeted at $400K Euro, involving the introduction of an advanced project management methodology which directly impacts a target audience in excess of 7,000 employees globally. • May 2010 - Mar 2011

Being the single Learning Programs Designer in Australia I had the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects involving both internal and external customers, designing e-learning and instructor-led courses. Always aiming to contribute with more than a beautifully designed training, my deliveries were accompanied with my best adult learning and talent development advice. The turn-around time of my deliverables was often a pleasant surprise to my clients. In this role I was awarded twice with Alcatel-Lucent University's "Sharing Transformation Excellence" award. In this role I was part of a 6-people multicultural, global team which managed Alcatel-Lucent's training curriculum in a synchronized and concise manner, reporting to the global lead of the Curriculum Management function (CEO -3). Due to my pro-active attitude and to the innovative nature of the solutions I've designed I am constantly assigned to take on large, non-standard global projects which require a creative approach. Responsibilities involved: Management of Functional/Managerial training requests from Alcatel-Lucent business units in all of APAC.
