I'm happy to recommend Keith Ross for a role in data-visualization, data-analytics, or web-development, based on my experience as his teacher during a 6-month data analytics bootcamp at the University of Denver. The curriculum covered topics like VBA , SQL, MongoDB, HTML+CSS+JS, d3.js, R, tidyverse, Python, matplotlib, pandas, sklearn, TensorFlow, and more. Altogether Keith completed over 250 hours of classwork, and 500 hours of software development while maintaining an outstanding academic average. In one project, Keith web-scraped basketball salary data and visualized it with Python plotly , to analyze players' linear efficiencies. In another, Keith implemented a remarkable "shot chart" data visualization. It was a bespoke bird's-eye-view of the court, written with R's shiny library. The viz included three-point lines, hoops, foul circles and player profile pics. This means Keith has experience and a passion for building interactive experiences to enhance data analytics and make it accessible/useful. In his final project, Keith used logistic regression to analyze the win-loss rates of NBA teams based on match data. His work demonstrates an understanding of machine-learning best practices: splitting into test and train datasets, scaling, and cross-validating. His work included an analysis of his prediction scores (impressive at ~72%!) and a confusion matrix, visualizing the sensitivity and specificity of his models. Keith was a committed student and a collaborative teamplayer during group projects. He showed a consistency and a drive that left a lasting impression. Keith would be a great addition to any team, and I look forward to working with him again!

I have worked with Keith Ross for the past 6 years and throughout his tenure within the Nordstrom Restaurant Division we have had the opportunity to work closely in many different roles: as counterparts, co-trainers for new stores and I also supervised him in his Chef role. I immediately recognized his leadership abilities as he has the highest level of detail, integrity and professionalism. He is an excellent leader that has promoted numerous employees whom he developed through impeccable training, mentoring and ongoing professional development. Keith has a high level of emotional intelligence combined with organization, time management and the utmost professional communications. These skills led to improved team moral and his meticulous analytical skills with budgeting led to sales and profit increases at every location he managed. He adapts quickly to new environments and aligns himself with company goals and initiatives. He is a highly skilled manager that has demonstrated the ability to manage his team directly at the same time take on extra tasks without any distractions. He can hold his team accountable while also show compassion for his team. Keith eventually moved with Nordstrom to the Cherry Creek location in Colorado. He did this to expand his skill set in a new market that needed a top performing manager, as well as to be close to family. While he did not work for me directly in this role, I stayed closely connected to his progress. In all my years working with Keith, he has always exceeded expectations in every assignment. I believe Keith would be a great addition to your team. He is dedicated and willing to do what is necessary to provide a positive result. He is smart, organized, action oriented, great with people, motivated and an excellent problem solver. He has my highest recommendation for the position he has applied for.
