In addition, product management acts as the central hub between sales, finance, marketing, and engineering. This was extremely valuable for my development as an engineer because I was exposed to a very broadened view of how revenue is generated and lost. Often times in the engineering design process, lack of communication can allow the scope of the project to creep. Overall, this experience taught me that sometimes the most meaningful questions are the ‘dumb’ ones.
