I worked as part of an engineering team responsible for developing High Performance Additive Manufacturing laser sintered aircraft, aerospace, and industrial parts. I have worked on a variety of projects including; New Product Development, Process Improvement, Technical Writing, Data Analysis and Document Control. New product development included using different types of carbon additives to achieve results specific to customer requirements. I also worked in a team that altered material processing parameters in order to develop material with increased mechanical properties compared to material processed under previous conditions. One of my process improvement projects included leading an investigation into new material processing and handling equipment. This equipment was used to expedite material production while reducing hands on time required by technicians. I also led investigations into new breakout techniques and technologies for reducing technician time needed for breakout. I participated in an investigation to optimize and map the laser sintering bed temperature in an effort to achieve a uniform bed temperature during part manufacturing. I also led investigations and performed cost analysis for purchasing new Tensile Testing lab equipment in order to increase production capabilities. My technical writing duties included creating Statements of Work for Engineering investigations and projects. These SOW's were approved by engineering management before projects were performed. After projects were completed, I was tasked with creating Engineering Technical Reports for management and corporate review. I was also tasked with authoring process control documents for new material handling equipment. These documents were approved by management, controlled through Document Control Board, and taught to technicians during training.I performed data analysis on mechanical properties during new product development to determine ultimate changes to material properties. The specialist team works to set up builds, prepare documentation for ISO compliance, while also working hands on with the OPM Additive Manufacturing process. I help develop and author procedure documents for new process improvements for OPM material handling and preparation. I worked closely with Engineering to develop new breakout and part finishing processes. I also worked closely with the Engineering and Quality department to determine a Root Cause for a FOD investigation.

I was pursuing my Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering in the Additive Manufacturing field. My research focused on optimizing laser parameters in Direct Metal Laser Sintering for Inconel 718 using an EOS M280. A literature investigation was done to determine the effects of each laser parameter on melt pool formation, volume of voids built into parts, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish of the completed parts before post process machining. Worked hands on with mechanical fuel control systems from a overhaul and repair standpoint. Developed new buying techniques to reduce excess waste accumulated from buying incorrect parts. Worked to add and remove suppliers for specific parts. Used Microsoft Excel to develop a leakage flow analysis to support fellow project engineers during customer update meetings.
