Bio
Nuno Dores
As a creative, you always meet someone that shapes the way you work and think. In my case, that person was Gilberto Barros. Being the first hire at the newly opened LOLA’s Lisbon office, Gilberto (or Giba) was tasked to build a creative team while importing the agency’s culture from the Madrid office. Not only he succeeded in doing that, but his leadership skills helped to create a familiar-feeling within the team in which everyone worked together closely and supported each other. During the two years we worked together at LOLA, Giba always set high standards for everyone in the team. The ideas had to be fresh. The craft perfect. The decks, flawless. Setting the bar up high helped us to continuously push our ideas forward, leading to one of the most creative periods I’ve had while working in advertising. Giba’s skills go beyond the ad world. Besides being a great friend and an amazing team leader, he is also a truly gifted chef. Yes, he shaped the way I think but also the way I look at food. Giba was the mastermind behind the several epic churrascos we did at the office on Fridays. This natural ability to bring people together around food took Giba to Maiorca to open his highly praised restaurant - BRUT. So if you’re either looking for a great creative director that can really handle a chef knife or a chef with great illustrator skills, look no further - Giba is the man.
