As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, my main responsibility was to ensure all areas of the business were compliant with legal and regulatory requirements. The business itself was regulated by 4 governing bodies. I was responsible for identifying, reviewing and managing risks that were presented to the business; both on a corporate & operational level. In the event the risk was breached, I would then be responsible for managing the event until a solution was reached. I was also responsible for Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and using these profiles to strategically direct the business in terms of its clients. I presented statistics to the Qualification Regulators and undertook analytical exercises to identify to business opportunity. My responsibilities would also permit me to liaise directly with other Awarding Organisations as and when required. I would undertake independent hearings of appeals, in line with the company's publically available policy. I was also part of the Company's Legal Department and would liaise directly with our internal and external solicitors on matters such as theft of intellectual property and Copyright infringements. I would also actively undertake investigations on the more serious matters in which the company was presented with. This would include allegations and/or instances of malpractice, fraud and investigations involving the company's regulators (Ofqual), the NCA, Police, Security Industry Authority or Home Office.
