As Director of Sales and Marketing, I was responsible for managing the overall sales and marketing efforts for the hotel to meet or exceed the budgeted goals, by increasing the occupancy and ADR in an effort to maximize total revenue. I was responsible for selling and marketing the hotel to prospective guests, individuals, groups, and companies through oral presentations, email solicitations, and cold calling. I actively participated in hotel management, revenue management, and guest service recovery. We had weekly Exec team meetings, weekly revenue calls, and weekly scheduling meetings. My daily tasks included assisting with the hotel breakfast, transporting guests to/from the Airport and Graceland on the hotel shuttle, and assisting at the front desk with guest check in/check out, reservations, pre-authorizations, service recovery, and more. On a daily basis I would also prospect and solicit new business, review the TravelClick Demand 360 Hotelligence report, review account production via OPERA, respond to RFPs via Lanyon, participate in outside sales calls, conduct site visits, entertain clients, detail proposals, draft contracts, coordinate meeting space rental, prepare BEOs, and represent my property at industry events throughout the city. This property housed 85 guest rooms and 1000 sq ft of meeting space.

I was also responsible for reviewing the TravelClick Demand 360 Hoteligence and Knowland reports, responding to RFPs via OnQ Solicitation Management, Lanyon, and MeetingBroker, qualifying new Local Negotiated Rate accounts, and preparing weekly production reports to track my activities. I served as Complex Sales Manager for both the DoubleTree Memphis-Downtown as well as the Hampton Inn Memphis Beale Street from June 2016-March 2017. I managed the sales efforts for the Business Transient, Corporate Group, Tour and Travel, Entertainment, and Government market segments until the Sales team was restructured in March 2017.
