Co-creating a pioneering systems-changing large scale educational platform in Southern Sweden (Skåne, Halland and Blekinge) with the purpose to:- prevent social exclusion- bridge gaps between lower (högstadiet) and upper secondary education (gymnasiet) as well as from upper secondary to tertiary education- boost widening access and participation in the whole educational system- secure long-term supply of competence in the south of Sweden- prevent drop-outs and improve resultsMy role is to- design and implement scalable and sustainable program models- develop tools for measuring the impact , measure it, and publish the results- build relationships and assure quality at all schools- recruit and train SI leaders- inform and spread awareness about the SI-platform- secure long-term fundingThe platform scales and replicates SI-programs (Supplemental Instruction or samverkansinlärning in Swedish) in the region having university students travelling to surrounding upper secondary schools as SI leaders. The upper secondary schools then have older students as SI leaders for students in the early years. And then students in upper secondary schools travel to surrounding lower secondary schools as SI leaders.SI is an academic support model with the purpose to increase retention and improve grades in targeted historically difficult courses, and improve graduation rates. SI utilizes peer-assisted study sessions that are regularly scheduled, informal review sessions in which students process the material from the ordinary tutoring. Students learn how to integrate course content and study skills while working together. SI is a free service offered to all students in a targeted course. SI is a non remedial approach to learning as the program targets high-risk courses rather than high-risk students.
